Tone deaf. That's all I can think to say, really. The most clueless, most vigorously unfunny comedy of 2011. There is literally no reason--that I can fathom, anyway--why anybody would ever want or need to see this, unless you have a really strong desire to watch Aziz Ansari lay claim to the title of the most annoying person on Earth.

With this cast and this director, it should be great. But, I don't know what the hell happened with these guys, nothing here works really well -- the shitty situations are funny, but all the dialogues seem a little bit exaggerated, they are just not natural as they should be. There are some good lines, and that's it.

Considering the talent involved it feels like it should have been way better. It's still funny, but the best parts were in the trailers and I was pretty desensitized to them by the time I saw it in theaters. I can only hope that I think this movie is hilarious upon a revisit in a few years, when I'm not seeing Aziz sing as he paints the toy guns every 4th commercial.

Nothing special. But it gets by, if only barely, on its pacing and it has a certain energy to it. Neither the characters nor the jokes live up to those in 'Zombieland'.

Although Eisenberg & Ansari both do what they do quite well, the hit-miss ratio 4 the jokes is pretty lousy. Supposedly the director chose alot of the actors' improv over the script & 1 has 2 wonder: how unfunny was it? There's something wrong w/ jokes when the ostensible laughs r this reliant on the F word. Probably a sleeper hit 4 Harold&Kumar lovers, but a drop 4 the Zombieland director. At least he keeps the plot moving along really quickly - which should stave off boredom. Maybe.

Dull and lifeless comedy feels like a meandering white board full of ideas; there are some good ones here, but the screenplay can never find a logical or reasonable connection between any of them which is deadly if you are dealing in snowball/screwball farce (what relevance does the title even have?) At least the performers try their hardest, but none of them can find purchase; why you would drag Ward in and give him nothing to do but be a stooge for a lame punchline is anyone’s guess.

Unfortunately not, but at least they kept this mess well under 90 minutes; during that time there were some decent scenes involving J.Eisenberg and A.Ansari, and having one of the many promising Greek-alumnae as support is always a bless - for the rest, well it's a couple of days since I watched it so that's fortunately forgotten. *Preview*: #13#, popcorn, story, director Fleischer/1, cast, R2.

A throwback sit-com which hits the funny without asking its audience to think... well, at all. Felt like Danny McBride wrote it even though he didn't, same kind of comedy, but comes off better than his last effort ("Your Highness"). McBride is starting to suffer from Will Ferrell syndrome (playing the same character each and every time out). I wonder how many people caught the "Social Network" reference early on, I laughed at that a lot. It did its job, but I won't seek out seeing it ever again.

Oh, what a shame. The funniest thing about this movie is when I went to go see this movie, an old man entered the theater right in front of me and farted right as he went through the door leaving me no choice but to walk through it. That same old man walked out after 10 minutes. No actor is likable in this film, the directing is sloppy & the plot is stupid as hell. So awful.

Though funny in places, 30 Minutes or Less takes the all so comfortable so-obvious-its-funny material and just throws it at a wall and see what sticks. The plot is thin, the characters are thinner and the movie is over faster than it takes Jesse Ceraberg to deliver a pizza.

A consistently funny flick. Eisenberg does a lot of his usual thing, but it works to create chemistry with the similar fast-talking Ansari. I can't say I've grown tired of McBride as I haven't seen him in that much (who paid to see Your Highness anyway?), so while he doesn't move an inch out of his comfort zone, it didn't hurt the film for me. It gets a bit overzealous in its raunchiness at times (I'm thinking of you, strippers), but the laughs never stop the whole runtime.

Why Eisenberg wanted to star in this baffles me, cause despite having a few funny moments, you never laugh out loud. Peña and McBride are great, but when the highlight of the movie is the line "Sometimes faith just rolls out it's big fat dick and slaps you in the face with it" You wonder whether this simply should only have lasted 30 minutes or less...

One of the most hit or miss comedies ever made. Some of the jokes work really well, loved the last joke of the film, but others fall flat. Also, Danny McBride doesn't get enough hate for doing the exact same thing in every movie and being terrible at it, he's like the Michael Cera of fat ugly annoying people. Gotta say I appreciated seeing Bianca Kajlich's glorious titties and for that I'm glad this film exists. Can't believe they made a comedy out of this real life tragedy though.

While the movie's not as laugh-out-loud funny as one would like, it's still highly amusing and quite enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of laughs to be had, and I admire the movie for being as twistedly dark as it is, but it all feels so...familiar. Every actor here is a playing a variation of archetypes they've played a thousand times before, and McBride especially could do for a change-up. The abrupt ending is less than satisfying. As a drug-dealing hitman, Peña steals the show.

I had high expectations for this movie but it really wasn't too funny. It's hard to describe why I didn't find it funny. I think the characters were just really two-dimensional. The movie did have a lot of action to it with explosions and car chases. So as far as action movies go, this wasn't too bad. Jesse Eisenberg was good and so was Bianca Kajlich. Danny McBride was super disappointing though, I usually like him but this was his worst acting job so far. A few laughs, good action. Average

30 Minutes or Less is a mediocre comedy that works for maybe about a third of its running time. After that, it gets silly, unfunny, and becomes a bore. The characters don't make a lot of sense, the plot is all over the place, and it felt like only a basic script was in place, and a lot of improvisation on both the part of the actors and filmmakers is what led to this film. It would have worked as a one-episode television show or perhaps a short film.

Aziz Ansari and Jesse Eisenberg work incredibly well in this picture, which is strange because they essentially play the same characters that they always play. I don't understand it. I love Danny McBride and Nick Swardson. But, this movie was completely lackluster. The only reason I gave it a sixty is because the last 10 minutes of the movie are really pretty well written and funny. The rest of the movie was bland. It's a romp movie; I get that. So of course the story is simple. But, even with some great acting by Michael Pena, this movie doesn't crawl out of mediocrity.

There's just something missing in '30 Minutes or Less' that I can't put my finger on. Everyone here has comedic talent and plays right into the type that you'd expect them to; yet something just doesn't feel complete. Maybe it's that lack of freshness that makes '30 Minutes or Less' feel like a let down. The one thing that I can credit the movie for is moving a pretty fast clip. It doesn't give you much time to get bored with the jokes that fall flat as you're on to the next sequence in no time.

This movie was played on a Friday night at 2 a.m. and it was quite enjoyable for a film that came out of sheer boredom. Jessie Eisenberg pulls of nervous and frantic with comedic excellence. There was a time when Michael Cera probably would have been everyone's choice for this role, but Eisenberg has proven to be the better actor. Of course Aziz Ansari was funny in the best friend and role. 30 Minutes or Less is for sure a good 2 a.m., but I have yet to see if it could be a 7 p.m. movie.
