3615 code Père Noël

This is not for kids but it is absolutely for kids. It'll be a few years before my son will get the chance because there really is some dark stuff here (doesthedogdie.com). The Home Alone comparison is fair but I was reminded of Son of Ranbow with a slasher tilt. Should work well as a gateway type of horror film like Beetlejuice, Gremlins, The Gate, or A Serbian Film. Please don't watch A Serbian Film.

Remember that part in Home Alone when Marv strangles Buzz with pantyhose in front of a crying Kevin because this movie almost did good lord. This movie was only made to trick children into having night terrors every December.

It stars off as a mix between Home Alone, Richie Rich, and Rambo but ends on a rather dark tone. Parts of the plot make no sense whatsoever. It's hard to pinpoint the target audience. Great Bonnie Taylor track though.

Doesn't quite reach its potential. It's a mix of Home Alone and slasher film, which at first seems to keep it tame enough, but it does get quite grim&gory and is definitely not suitable for kids. I really wonder who the target audience was, but of course that unique mix is part of the charm. Some details -like the data terminals- might work better for French, but there's enough of 80's nostalgia for others as well. Re-watching this in '23 made me appreciate the dreamlike atmosphere a bit more.
