7 Days

Pleasantly enjoyable rom-com resembles a COVID spin on WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (with the Zoom introductions overtly stirring memories). This is not as witty or insightful, and seems to flounder a little as the second act turns to the third; really comes to life when Soni and Viswanathan are simply left to banter spikily with each other, with both actors making their potentially abrasive characters endearing and charming. A modest success.

I liked Soni & Viswaathan, but 7 Days' justification of arranged relationships comes across as a little too Stockholm-Syndrome-y for me. The film also suffers from pacing issues after the couple initially bump heads. Still there are plenty of cute moments, and the film plays well it the idea of braking the façade. Overall a little shallow, but a good use of the Covid situation.

I only watched it for Geraldine Viswanathan. I don't regret it.
