Good Russian war-movie, a sort of lost Vietnam war for the Russians. Good action on the mountain at the end.

It's an ok war movie, but can we finally have one without propaganda and phatos? Too stylized to be realistic.

Just about one of the most boring films I've seen.

I watched the first hour of this. Despite the interesting subject and some nice cinematography, it was so crude and lewd that I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Certainly didn't make the Russian soldiers look very good. Too bad, as I rented it with high hopes. I gave it a chance.

Watching this felt like being captive with people you dislike.

WONDERFUL!!! I've seen it twice, it's really touching.

It always amuses me how war films are exactly the same through generations and across continents.

Amazing film, not just "based" but a retelling OF the siege.

Overall it was a good movie. The ending battle was comical though and many parts of the movie seemed over the top.
