You can see the filmmaker's tried to make this edgy type of thriller, I found it rather dull most of the time and didn't really give a shit about the characters.

It's intense, the atmosphere is dark and bleak but the characters never really become three dimensional in anyway and the plot serves up no real twists and turns. It's just a slow burning dramatic piece about how quickly things can go from bad to worse. It's entertaining for what it is, but certainly not a hard hitting drama like it easily could have been.

A story about a boy who wanted to succeed .. not bad but not excellent either. My opinion : http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.be/2013/08/96-minutes-2011.html

Aimee Lagos' ambitious debut film is really just a primer for the message it tries to send which has been conveyed far more effectively by other films of the hyperlink genre, like 21 Grams without the richness, distinction or style. But Evan Ross makes his character Dre's despair and anxiety-fed actions all too real, even when the dialogue is too on-the-nose. You watch as he sees his prospects fade by the minute.

"The director seems to be at odds with her own film, like a well-meaning but controlling parent hell-bent on choosing a child's college, major, and fraternity for them." - Jonathan Pacheco
