A Christmas Horror Story

This Christmas themed horror anthology makes for a watchable enough holiday horror for those who celebrate with a little blood in their eggnog. The tinsel thin connective tissue tying these four stories together is William Shatner as a local radio DJ, but each story is a more of a mixed stocking of tiny presents and coal than anything close to a Christmas classic.

This was an interesting idea for an anthology. I don't think the format really worked that well especially since some of the segments were better than others. It was a good watch but it won't be on my regular holiday watch list. Fun but no classic.

Weird that we got two Krampus movies in the same year, and neither is a mockbuster of the other. This one was competent-to-good, but it didn't really push its Christmas theme very hard at all. Considering it's a Christmas horror flick, you kind of have to shove ol' St. Nick and his many strands of multicolored lights in our face to be memorable. The changeling story genuinely got under my skin, and the Trick r Treat vibe throughout made me feel warm and cozy, like Christmas.

This one is basically a Christmas "Outer Limits", and I can dig that. One thing that I really appreciate is when anthology movies have clear links between all the stories, this one is casually related at best, when combined with one or two really bad stories (out of four), I seriously question why the bad ones were included.

Actually....5? Maybe 4 more or less connected stories but pretty much disjointed. None of them are very great. Watch Krampus instead

Too try hard, someone had the wacky idea of making a xmas horror story, wow so edgy

I liked the idea, but A Christmas Horror Story (2015) could have been a lot more horrifying. Pretty much ordinary horror stories inserted with some kind of half-irrelevant holiday theme instead of a full-fledged Christmas tale. Lightly enjoyable though, plus it has William Shatner as a radio jockey getting us in the holiday mood.

I really enjoyed it. I'm uncertain, however, that this means it was a good movie, because after spending Christmas eve listening to my extended family talk politics, removing all my fingernails with pliers would seem an enjoyable diversion.

Five *very* thinly connected stories. Neither is really all that good.
