Scattershot, aimless narrative highlights some fine performances, (Seihon is the standout) and Amato is as good a hero/anti-hero as you could want, but the film's ultimate lack of form and focus is frustrating, feeling too often like a lethargic version of CITY OF GOD. Manages a nice, sad little nihilistic punch at the finale, but this sort of material has been covered more engagingly in other, better films.
