A Estranha Hospedaria dos Prazeres

No real story and it doesn't have any of the creep factor of the better films in the series. In fact this mostly felt like a hodgepodge of random scenes of debauchery and murder while thunder, moaning or bizarre musical choices play in the background.

Mojica's worst, and by a mile. The fact he didn't quite direct this from the start says a lot. Some good scenes near the end, though -- Coffin Joe killing insects by just looking at them, the ending with the cemetery instead of the actual hostel, telling us that the place only received lost souls. But the whole thing is just a bloated mess -- even for a 80min film.

Semana Especial Revisando o Cinema de José Mojica Marins filme #7. Não sei se não estava no clima, mas esse me pareceu um filme menor do que é usual do Mojica nos anos 70, a gente só começa a perceber o que está de fato acontecendo depois de meia hora - talvez os mais espertos percebam antes, não sei - mesmo sendo um tema clássico ao horror.
