A Haunted House

This barely deserves to be called a movie. At best, it's a shitty web series that somehow got projected onto a screen--that's how completely insubstantial this is. It starts out as crushingly mediocre--that is to say, not bad enough to be less tedious (it's also the longest 86 minutes in a while)--but it eventually plunges into homophobia, lazy, spelled-out references to PULP FICTION, SNAKES ON A PLANE, and the like--and DOESN'T WANT TO END. Nick Swardson's dreams really should've been crushed.

This film is trash. Gets a 5 for 1 funny joke from Cedric the Entertainer. With that being said, I'm going to take the rest of this space to issue a PSA: Audi drivers have taken over from BMW drivers as the #1 douche bags of the road. Make no mistake...BMW drivers are still douche bags, but Audi drivers have surpassed them in douchiness. This is not opinion...this is FACT. The more you know!

Goofy fun

A Haunted House isn't funny, is boring, and will also offend you if you happen to be someone who even has a remote interest in anyone who isn't you. It only begins to work when it allows its naturally funny cast to ad-lib their way through scenes, but that doesn't happen anywhere near often enough to be a selling point. For most of the time, you'll be hoping that the paranormal entity just kills off the cast and we can hit the credits. That, of course, doesn't happen.

Definitely better than Scary Movie 3, 4, 5 combined. Take that, bitches.

I felt like this movie started off really funny but the further they went into it the less funny it got. First of all, it must be said that this is exactly the same as a movie that came out earlier straight to dvd called 30 Days of Paranormal Activity with the Devil Inside the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It had the SAME jokes in them. So, unoriginal Marlon Wayans. The parts with Nick Swardson and Cedric the Entertainer were the worst. Almost unwatchable.

Wow! Guys. Where is the crowd that appreciated the first Scary Movie as really excellent spoof of the most popular cookie-cutter horror flicks of the day, because to be perfectly honest, this is almost as good as the first Scary Movie flick, which I personally thought was fantastic. The jokes were funny and fresh, and while a lot of the humor is crude, for this style, it really works. This is a great return to form for Marlon Wayans, who arguably hadn't made a great movie in a decade.

The worst most insulting thing I have ever seen. A woman masturbates with a crucifix. I left the theater early.

Terrible movie...however I laughed. Some scenes just way too offensive, not at all funny.

I think I first watched this when I was 14, and I still don't really think I found it that funny then. Spoof movies are always gonna be bad no matter what the context is (except for Spaceballs) most of them feel like Saturday Night Live skits than last way too long, and while I'm a big fan of the Wayans guys, they know themselves that this was really stupid to do. I maybe found one or two things appealing, but everything is dumb and repetitive. It literally is what it is.

This movie is like literally 50% rape jokes.

Brutal. Amazing how many of these spoofs are made each year. The talent and inventiveness are here (in Wayans) to be better than then the Seltzer-Friedberg films, but the same jokes repeat over and over again as do the visual gags, many of which are nauseating but not at all funny, especially when repeated. They then bring all the wacky characters back at the end, like we're trapped in some sort of humorless, hellish loop. And they made another one of these?

cedric the entertainer made me laugh. there may have been a few other jokes in the film as well, though they were expertly hidden by not being funny at all. i should have known better to even watch this, but i was feeling particularly self-loathing for 86 minutes. i even turned it off only to put it right back on bc i didnt want to find something else to watch. the wayans killed the parody film over a decade ago and they just keep stabbing its corpse

I love Marlon Wayans. He just got a funny face! The story is crap as expected but it made me laugh on several occasions and that is the general idea with comedies. Don't expect greatness and you probably won't be dissapointed.

Not the best that the parody films out there have to offer, but if you're after a few chuckles then you're looking in the right place.

Surprisingly, it's considerably better than the entire Scary Movie franchise.. combined. Not really deserving of the crazy-overwhelming negative reaction. If you have any kind of tolerance for the crude spoof comedy genre, this is one of the better bets.

The joke soon gets very one-sided and the middle third is horrible. Cedric the Entertainer brings some new energy towards the end.
