Visually this film is not right, and it's so bad it affects the pacing of the story.

Kirk Douglas is very good in this film. This film is dated, it is very much a 60's creation. Not every scene works, but many of them are interesting. Overall I would recommend this film.

Eli Wallach is amusing as a tricksy-folksy lawyer and Kenyon Hopkins' score is fun. Otherwise, it's quite forgettable, with a choppy story, confusing ending, and flat style. I saw it for Gilbert & Sullivan veteran Martyn Green, but he's barely in it.
