This sort of thing is usually on USA starring Lorenzo Lamos.

Flat action film in the vein of a 90s Seagal vehicle has a curious lack of excitement or even tension as the plot unfolds - possibly due to the thin, simplistic writing exacerbated by Diesel's droning, monotonous performance. Olyphant shows some brief flashes of charisma, and the film has an appealing early 00s gloss to its look, but overall it's a pretty turgid misfire.

Pretty much a rehash of a thousand other "cop driven to bloodthirsty revenge" movies, and no better. Diesel shows glimpses of real chops, but they quickly fade away in the mediocre script.

Simply put, it is about as generic as it gets.

Fans of Diesel should enjoy his performance, so long as they aren't expecting him to be Xander Cage in every scene. Other than that, skip it. Even if this is better than most vehicles that cover the same territory, this ground has been covered so much, there's little opportunity for any new ideas to grow.

Good action of course but it resembles Seagals Out for Justice.

Quite bad even for mindless action but Vin does his thing. And hey, this movie's better at being Max Payne than Max Payne.

Gruff looking Diesel stars in a decent action flick. Pretty good and gritty action scenes, but a little too much of the shaky camera to put it up a level or two.

I thought that Vin Diesel did an alright job but I didn't find the movie very interesting. The only character of interest was Vetter (Diesel) while everyone else was just annoying. This is bad when the movie is character driven. A shame as I was really hoping Vin Diesel might get some respect for giving a decent performance in a (somewhat) more serious role.

Fairly strong start, but the second half and the ending are atrocious. This could have been so much better with some adjustments to the story. I mean, the only reason I kept watching -- nay, the only reason I even pressed play -- was because I thought Vin Diesel was going to switch sides and take over the cartel. Instead we get a dumb story with one-dimensional characters and a pile of unexplained loose ends, any one of which could have made the film interesting in the hands of better writers.

FGG makes films like he's shooting Ice Cube videoclips. Combines mid-aerial shots with handheld to create a rare sober revenge. It all points to this DEA street smart agent becoming a monster to catch a monster -- as he is told by a drug lord. But instead of a path of empty violence, he uses the law in his favor, in a rare twist that dares to be low-key instead of bloated. FGG is a truly good director in conveying surprise finales in actioners, actually. An auteur that likes to have some fun.

B-movie with a budget of an average Hollywood thriller. It is not even visible where all the money went. Maybe those aerial shots of location before every scene comes pricey? Diesel is a star of a movie. I admit, he does drama better then lets say Schwarzenegger did. Movie isn't as obnoxious as previous Diesel vehicles (xXx, The Fast and the Furious), but it's even less interesting to see, because it's so generic. Direction is better than the script by far.

Way to go New Line, Gudegast, Scheuring, and Gray, you've all succeeded in pushing out another piece of crap remarkably similar to every other piece of crap in the "cop with a vendetta" genre. Really. The similarity is uncanny. Clearly the "find and replace" function on your script editor is working.

Quite unknown director and writers worked with this movie, which has very much overused plot. I don't like Diesel as a actor. If you watch this movie, then you know why.
