Although it's obviously an important film in Conner's career, he was later able to build his footage into something more coherent and rhythmic than this, which only really gains its footing in the last three minutes or so.

It's certainly something different but it lacks the coherence necessary to have any real impact.

In the rare moments I thought I understood what he as getting at I disagreed.

A piss-take on the very concept of traditional feature film storytelling, as evinced by the tongue-in-cheek title, compressing everything into a rapid series of climactic moments, replete with false endings and hilarious juxtapositions. (Seriously, this movie is funny as hell - I wasn't one bit surprised to learn that Conner was largely influenced by a scene from Duck Soup.)

Conner seems to be an interesting filmmaker; highly conceptual stuff with emotional resonance or just energetic and fun. This however, is just a whole lot of nothing. See the summary there? That is pretty much as deep as it gets. When all you have is the editing, the least you can do is make it interesting.
