A Prairie Home Companion

pretty funny at times and overall a good musical considering I'm straight.

I expected a light, meta-referential backstage comedy, and in a way, that's what this is. But somewhere, about midway through, the movie becomes something far more surprising and more touching; I won't spoil what makes this movie so special, but I will say that I can't stop smiling about it. And it's also a gentle, funny comedy.

A lightweight delight from beginning to end. Uneven performances, stellar songs and lots of corny jokes for grandma.

Good. Strange, but good...

Even if you are a fan of Garrison Keillor, this movie is bad. It's as though the film doesn't know what it wants to be.
