Though I don't care for his singing, Kristoffersen isn't half-bad here, whereas Streisand is beyond hopeless. Overall, it's perhaps slightly less insufferable than the previous remake of the 1937 classic, but it's still way, way too long. But Cooper's pretty great update does owe a debt to it in some respects.

There are a time and place for candlelit bathtub lovemaking scenes, although what they are I can’t tell you. Esther’s fights with John also get tiresome and too long. This is glorious ham and cheese. An enticing combination of bad acting and all-out musical performances. Do not think to yeet this straight to the bin, for its crass 70s 'tude is just so entertaining you forget the plot really starts 20 minutes in.

How did they get these two singers but still have unremarkable songs that don't seem to fit the plot? It's not a bad movie per se, but definitely the weakest or most forgettable in the series. Except for Streisand's faces. Not much in the plot besides time jumps with riding horses. How did Streisand's character get famous? I think I just don't care for the '70s as much. LOL female reporter sleeping for a story trope. Fav scene: building the house and being in the amazing house.

Entirely too long for my taste and Streisands acting is too melodramatic for my taste I was also disappointed that given they had two legitimate singers the music for the most part was horribly cheesy I did however feel like it was a realistic portrait of what life on the road is probably like Favorite line...Are you a figment of my imagination or am I a figment of yours ?
