A Wind Named Amnesia

Absolute peak 90s OVA. Beautifully drawn. Even has an obligatory titty sequence. You'll have to be comfortable viewing an outdated racist depiction of the violence didn't already put you off.

A good idea with middling execution esp in second half... and that ending! Theme is totally obscure. 2 examples of pointless female nudity. Animation (given it's age) is functional but no better.

Obscure old anime on Tubi. The premise is interesting: the years-later aftermath of every human on earth suddenly undergoing full amnesia back to an animal/infant state (even losing the ability to speak). The ideas are under-explored though simply because it's so short, like 75 minutes, the first 25 of that being the protagonist's flashback backstory. Also didn't need the subplot with the giant killer robot pursuing him - the concept has plenty of narrative meat on it without that anime cliche.

Most overlooked film of well-known Kawajiri (infamous with Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D). Action , animation and characters are cheap in this movie, but thematic richness around post apocalyptic future are rare for the sci-fi genre.
