Indie snoozefest with a terrible poster.

Adult Children of Divorce. It's funny that this movie is called that because nobody really acted like adults, just children. I thought this movie was fine...

Pleasant enough since the cast is so great, but it never seems sure of what it wants to be and the ending is exactly the type of frustrating, pseudointellectual junk that could ruin a film like this.

Usually everything that includes Adam Scott and Amy Poehler is super awesome, but this is an exception. It's not really a bad movie, but it doesn't make it quite clear what it wants it to be. There isn't a sequel to those sort of movies, so I can't understand how we didn't receive some sort of a closure about the development of the characters. Utterly disappointing. Also, honestly, I found it kind of strange that Jessica Alba was in - definitely not her cup of tea.

Funny but felt like it should have been funnier. Great idea for a story but it felt like it should have gone deeper. I'm a sucker for a movie with a protagonist that's inherently unhappy so I liked it.

A.C.O.D. is a waste of time and talent. Hopefully it didn't take too much time and effort to shoot, as the result isn't worth seeing. It's not particularly funny, sharp, or insightful. What is it, then? A dull slog, for most of the time. The actors aren't given anything to work with, there's no heart to the production, and there's no depth or smarts to be found anywhere. It's not altogether painful, but it's not worth dedicating 90 minutes of your life toward.

A "what, why?" kind of picture that refers back to montages and half baked psychology than actually succeeding at either being humorous or touching.

How can a movie with a cast of people i love be so dull? Shit like this is just too white.

Just not interesting enough. Treats its very common premise as though it is high-concept. Takes on a bunch of different plots and lets most of them fizzle out.

If you like your humor dark and dry like MST3K or Monty Python, this film presents a blacklit satire of the selfishness behind divorce in an absurdist farce that descends slowly into the abyss and then bounces back. It's a Rom-Com buried deep within a documentary and a darkly postmodern look at the damaged psyche of modern people.
