I think by this point, the writers were making Abbott & Costello movies by filling in Mad-Libs (uhhhh, kids...Venus...boobs,etc). Notable, however, for featuring Harry Shearer's awesome presence.

So, the joke is that Mars is actually New Orleans and Los Angeles is actually Venus, and it's a funny gag but does not always pay off for the viewer.

About as dumb as the boys get, but somehow still lands some solid laughs. Stuff a movie with swimsuit models and I'm easily pleased.

I got one or two laughs out of this. I suppose Abbott and Costello fans will get all they are looking for, but it was lacking in comedy for me.

Not one of their best films but still a fun film to watch on a rainy day.

"Abbott and Costello, Go to Mars" doesn't just fall short of its cosmic title destination – the humor also fails to launch, with jokes that miss the mark, leaving an impression more ridiculous than humorous.

This mistitled mess may be Bud and Lou's worst film. Good special FX are about all this lame fantasy-comedy has going for it.

This pure studio comedy is not without some chuckles (and some of those Venusian women are certainly out of this world). But any two comedians could have starred in this SF-mock-up. There's too much of spaceships running wild and not enough of Bud and Lou doing what they do best. I hate Bud's mustache, too! In its favor, there is a great Mardis Gras sequence with nifty costumes and masks galore. Really cute, and worth the price of admission by itself.
