Let's get tothe brass tacks here: Abduction is not only the worst film ever made, it is the worst THING humanity had ever devised. I'd personally rate it a notch or two higher than the Holocaust. Taylor Lautner plays his part with an emotional range that would make Arnold Schwarzenegger look like Alec Guinness. The truly terrifying thing is that his acting is not the worst part of the film. I recently heard a rumor that owning a copy of Abduction in Germany is punishable by five years in prison.

Abduction is terrible, especially given how talented the supporting cast members are. But Lautner can't carry this film, the secondary actors are all underutilized, while the writing and action scenes were all lackluster. The plot doesn't even make complete sense, with things needing exposition being ignored, and things easily understood given all of the time. Unless you want to watch Taylor Lautner being chased around for 100 minutes, you have no reason to spend your time with Abduction.

When you watch a 'million-dollar-spec-script' turned into a movie that has Taylor Lautner as an action lead; When you find such a movie filled to the brim with god-awful dialogues, nonsensical storyline and bland action pieces; When you find it's director unsuccessfully jumping styles from Hitchcock to Greengrass to Tony Scott in a matter of seconds??? You can tell the level to which the IQ's of some Hollywood Executives are dropping! Abduction almost becomes a quintessential must watch.

There was a scramble for this guy to star in his own films after his Twilight spawned adoration. I don't see many people clamoring for him after this shitpile.

It's like the Diet Coke of action movies-- sounds good on the surface, no calories. Pretty empty all around, and the film's depiction of Pennsylvania as some sort of idyllic super clean wonderland-- hell, even the Amtraks are brand new!-- is fairly unnerving. It's like peering into what a computer thinks an action movie is.

Okay, for starters, nothing is abducted from this film (other than the filmmakers' originality and any personality Taylor Lautner possesses away from the camera). I originally thought the title an awful marketing pun based off our young hero's tummy ("Ab-duction," get it?!?!?!), but he's not even shirtless all that much. If you can't tell by now this one is dull, and you'll forget everything about it 10 minutes after its over since its just a collection of cliches. It is rifftastic, though.

Abduction doesn't have one great failing; everything about it is lacking in one way or another. But special notice should be given to Shawn Christensen's whacked-out script, which darts around geographically without much rhyme or reason, and teems with cliched--or outright bizarre--dialogue ("I hate balloons"). John Singleton's direction suggests he knew he was making a bad film, and threw in some strange camerawork and bizarre characterization to amuse himself. Needless to say, a disaster.

"I walk around like everybody else but inside I just feel like I'm a stranger in my own life." Man, am I glad this dialog was improvised and no-one actually wrote this script. Am I right guys? ... Guys?

I think people hate this movie because of wolf boy over there, but I'm pretty sure it was a hit with the teenybopper group. I don't hate him, and this movie does not suck as much as people claim it does. Sure, there have been way better spy/action flicks and Weaver must be losing her mind deciding to be in this, but if you don't pay much attention to the words, it ends up passing the time acceptably.

Poor writing. Taylor Lautner gave an uninspired performance. The plot is borderline ridiculous & some of the story & dialog was pathetic. Maria Bello & Jason Isaacs were good, but underutilized. Sigourney Weaver played a minor role. Lily Collins was very cute but was also hamstrung by the material. A few too many unbelievable situations, unsatisfying dialog & poor acting performances to be ranked much higher despite all the great big budget action scenes. Also the title didn't really fit.

Nothing anyone does in this film makes any sense, and some bizarre decisions are made on all levels, but I'll say something nice. Taylor Lautner is actually charming when asked to play an affable young man rather than a serious dramatic actor. Someone stick this boy in a comedy to save his career.

I know there is a stereotype of Taylor Lautner whining in films...but it is completely justified in this movie. Holy crap, is it bad.

A decent premise ruined by a terrible script and wooden acting (seriously, how hard do you have to work to make Alfred Molina and Sigourney Weaver look bad?) I was willing to give Taylor Lautner a chance based on his SNL performance, but his one facial expression didn't do him any favors here. Very questionable directing, editing, & camera work.

I think its safe to say that Abduction is definitely not the best movie ever made, the plot line has been used before, and it is certainly hindered by the use of every cliche known to man. But certainly what boosts Abduction is the fact that Lautner is fit and is willing to do these action scenes. It may be cliche, and it may not make sense, but Abduction is merely nothing more then an action film. We have set the boundary low before for action filicks. Why tear apart a film for trying?

See this when you're in the mood for eye-rollingly, groan-inducingly awful dialog--of which there is plenty in this flick--that parades, in seemingly endless succssion, one cliche after another. Not quite flamboyantly bad enough to be a camp classic, it is a must for fans of truly terrible movies.

I can see a teenager watching this and thinking it's the coolest thing in the world. There's something here but the creators aimed too low and squandered the potential. Action scenes, woefully sparse, are its saving grace. Did Taylor Lautner deserve a Tom Cruise-like career? He did so many (or all?) of his own stunts!

The impossibility to trust anyone was interesting, but it was a bit wasted with all of the ridiculous "cool hip kid" things getting in the way. References aged poorly, acting not too impressive from the main kids, the ending a bit disappointing as I felt not much tension building.

Started as a generic b tier teenage action movie. Shaky cam, quick cut, underwhelming vfx. Quickly devolved into twilight levels of cringe. Dialog was total trash.
