Thomas is 14 and effeminate with family problems. In the hospital, after being beaten by his parents, he meets Larry a young (30 something) filmmaker who is planning to make a film about child abuse. After his release from the hospital Thomas phones Larry to try and find out if he is also gay but decides the only way to find out is to meet him at a public toilet. (imdb)

First, the synopsis is incorrect--the initial meeting is not in a public toilet, nor is the motive to meet in a public park to "find out Larry is gay". This flick is part public service/raising awareness, part exploitation...guess which one wins out? And a lot of it seems weirdly naïve today. None of the abuse scenes feel the least bit authentic or are viscerally convincing, but Bressan is good with one-on-one interactions. Definitely not for everyone.
