Anna is stuck: she's approaching 30, living like a hermit in her mum's garden shed and wondering why the suffragettes ever bothered. She spends her days making videos using her thumbs as actors - thumbs that bicker about things like whether Yogi Bear is a moral or existential nihilist. But Anna doesn't show these videos to anyone and no one knows what they are for. However, when her school friend comes to visit, Anna's self-imposed isolation becomes impossible to maintain. (imdb)

Another brit dramedy, this time with a child actor and a somewhat forced 'quirkiness'. Despite all that, I quite liked it.

Adult Life Skills is a quirky film with solid performances from Whittaker & Goldstein, but Tunnard seems to favour drawn out transition shots that drag the pace down. Anna's grief makes her arrested development much less interesting, while Myers' Clint acts as a sympathetic surrogate but is really difficult to understand. Ultimately, despite the bursts of anger, it's a notably low-energy film that prefers its moody interludes over its witty exchanges.
