Feels much the same as "Kidulthood" in tone and execution. Like its predecessor it has some solid performances, but literally all of the characters are fucking morons. Also the prison scenes are stupid.

Very "serious" and quite boring, watch Kidulthood instead.

So very much better than I expected. Does a good job of avoiding being preachy too. Well worth the time, and now I need to track down a copy of the prequel.

Much better than I expected but some dodgy casting (stage school-kids as hood-rats) and mid-Atlantic cultural confusion held it back.

Brutal, melodramatic, unflinching, over-the-top and, in really well done. Noel Clarke deserves a lot of credit for pitching the tone of this just right. As a middle class white guy I've got no idea how true to life it is, but I'm prepared to trust Clarke's interpretation of all of it.

Maintains the high-energy style of Kidulthood, but improves things slightly with a more developed story and more focus on the characters. It's more introspective than the first film, with the characters coming to realise that actions have consequences - a lesson that fits well with the theme of transitioning from youth into adulthood. It gets a little preachy towards the end, and some of the acting is dodgy, but apart from that it's fine.

Worthy followup to kidulthood which continues its themes and offers a creditable redemption for the lead.

Watchable but such unlikeable characters leading such sad existences.
