Mildly enjoyable murder mystery/romance. The writing is not particularly distinguished, and the central character is miscast. Thanks goodness for Jean Arthur and Reginald Owen--they both bring an airy charm to the proceedings. Joel McCrea does not, unfortunately, possess the innate charm to make his know-it-all crime-writer-character anything other than mildly obnoxious.

A clever romance-comedy-mystery story! Joel McCrea is a cocky reporter who can predict any crime coming. Then his fellow reporters put over a practical joke on him where he meets actress Jean Arthur. Coincidences lead to him getting closer to solving a crime league and thats the gist of it. Didn't feel it all came together because the romance bit took too much of the attention compared to the crime part, but it was a sweet movie with plenty of funny off-beat comedy moments.
