It's shit, but it's oddly mesmerising in its hypnotic pacing and pale colour palette. This can fall under Money Laundering Movie; it's clearly a cover-up for something. Its score seems to be a translation of some sort of code based on how it's set up. Doesn't stop it from being godawful. Worst waste of 35mm i've ever seen, it looks like it was shot on a camcorder. That being said, I won't stop thinking about it.

Wow. Took a vaporwave remix to make The Cell interesting.

Despite watching this twice, where the second time around I even tried to take notes, still I'm not entirely sure what exactly this really is. Well the one thing I know for sure is that it's bad. The problem comes with just how bad it really is. Is it as exceptionally incompetent as it seems, or is it intentionally this bad as some kind of art film? It definitely gives you that feeling of curiously staring at a piece of garbage centered alone in the room of a museum left to wonder, WTF is this?

While hardly "good" by any remotely conventional standards, the overall effect of this film is very different from your typical "so bad it's good" campy schlockfests (or really any other film for that matter). Is it possible for something to be unintentionally Brechtian? Is it even unintentional? The sheer inscrutability of it is what gives it it's singular, bizarre magnetism. That said, it's still pretty boring, but it's sort of fascinating at the same time, and not in an entirely ironic way.

Despite garnering viral hype and (inapt) comparisons to The Room, this unforgettable work of semi-conscious anti-craft was misunderstood and ignored. Fitfully spunky but utterly unemotional, its minimalist sets and dialogue recall Samuel Beckett and test suspension of disbelief as Hal Hartley does. Is it "bad on purpose"? Yes and no. Here's a hint: what are they doing, really, with those microchips?

If this film had been competently made but with the same script it would be written off as just another amateur production whose writer had an idea bigger than they could pull off. But this is no ordinary incompetent production, it has been elevated into something worth seeing just to witness how utterly despairing and hopeless it is. From the incomplete sets to the drifting, unnerving CGI interludes this film was not made with love but with a fearless disregard to filmmaking

I think this is how normal movies appear when viewed through the eyes of a severely autistic person. Conversations are flat and devoid of emotion or meaning, then some interesting geometric shapes appear to hold your attention for 5 mins, then back to more talking and your eyes glaze over until the shapes return.
I've seen many bad movies, but this... I'm not sure if this can even be called a movie.

This movie is unlike anything else I've ever seen. It fails at being a film on quite a few levels, but I find myself looking back on its cubes, cones, and spheres with fondness. The cubes and cones take up quite a bit of screen time in what is otherwise a convoluted murder mystery and, if you will, psychological thriller. Give it a go! It's an unforgettable hour and a half.
