More of what made the first movie great. Also, along with subsequent Frankenstein films, the series gains a misnomer as a title.

I really enjoy the fast banter chemistry between powell and loy and even separate they both have quick wit delivery that makes them the star on the screen...even with James stewart who doesn't do much but he does get a shining moment at the end. The humor is increased over the first one, however the mystery is decreased and is a bit hodgepodge. I didn't like the madcap gathering of characters at the end of the first film...here its less confusion at least

The same smart dialogue, but a lot less celebration of alcoholism, mark an improvement on the first Thin Man film. The scenes of the train journey to San Francisco at the start are something of an artifact.

Spoiler Alert!!! M. Night Shyamalan's The Village suffered heavily from something that it had no way of foreseeing and no control over. The previous film Adrian Brody starred in won him the Oscar for Best Actor. So when he appeared in a bit part in The Village, it didn't take a genius to figure out he was going to be of some significance further into the film. This movie stars James Stewart.

The Thin Man does it again! Once more a wonderful detective story filled with comedy, exaggerated characters and the magnetic chemistry between William Powell & Myrna Loy! The film sets the tempo right from the start with fantastic presentation of the family situation ending with a funny after dinner talk between the lads before the real plot starts. When the mystery plot gets rolling it drifts off a little bit, but regains itself nicely to a excellent climax!

Nowhere as good as the original. Too much focus on the damn dog, and other characters, for cheap entertainment diminishes time spent on the charming couple. Funny thing, though; if this series was made today, it would be rather tragic; An out-of-work, alcoholic vigilante cluelessly bumping into streams of murders somehow related to his no-good, spoiled and rich, self-destructive wife. O' ye times, thou art a-changing! Apparently. Cheers.

Doesn't measure up to the delightful original. Of the five sequels, I'd say it's the one to check out. For more Powell-Loy banter, and for James Stewart as one of the suspects.

This series of films is all about the privilege of watching Myrna Loy and William Powell offer witticisms and happily married chemistry as some nefarious plot unfolds before them. The detective angle drives the plot, and Jimmy Stewart definitely raises the level of the cast in this, the second installment of the series. The fact that I am not sure whether I prefer the first or the second says a great deal about the success of this one. Fun film.

An excellent sequel! Myrna Loy and William Powell still have the greatest chemistry, but you have a new actor thrown into the mix: James fuckin Stewart! It's an early role and it's one Hitchcock probably should've seen. Asta is also hysterical in this one and I felt really bad for him. It's hard to say, but I think I might prefer this one.

Love seeing Jimmy Stewart in this one. Asta plays a fine leading dog and wins my heart again. Polly made me cringe every time she spoke. Myrna Loy and William Powell still had it and were a delight.

More comedy-mystery adventures of the screen's greatest married couple, Nick and Nora Charles. I wish I were that witty when I'm drunk. Asta should have won an Oscar, his subplot was hilarious.

Once again, I fail to see any real value in Powell or Loy, and this one isn't even as good as the first, which was fairly lackluster it's self. What it does have is Jimmy Stewart in an early role and a damn fine one at that. The payoff is the best part in this one, just like the first.

Whoa--Jimmy Stewart as Norman Bates (or something like that). Pretty surreal stuff. A couple of the women overact fairly mercilessly, but on the whole it's quite a big batch of fun (even if Asta does get cuckolded somewhere in the mix).
