Against the Wind

While this movie about British agents working undercover to sabotage the Germans in Belgium benefits from a realistic script and solid performance, it never really reaches its full potential; tense scene's are just not suspenseful enough, action just not exciting enough, tragic moments just miss real impact. It's still a fine enjoyable movie, but it could have been good.

Simone Signoret's English speaking debut was onto something, but didn't quite lead to anything great. One of the reasons for that was Signoret not being used enough, with focus being on Robert Beatty and his other pointless flirts before the Nazi stuff got going. This was fine, I guess, but could have been so much better.
