When sudden and massive earthquakes open the Arabian tectonic plate, the result is unstable weather and freezing temperatures that will be unsurvivable by nightfall. Attempting to reach safety, a vacationing American family in Egypt, the Jones', must battle the rapidly cooling temperatures that usher in a new Ice Age, covering the Sphinx, Pyramids, and Sahara Desert with mountains of snow.

This is one of those movies you can immediately guess who made them. Piss poor CG and ridiculous goings-on totally gives this one away. The actors do seem to give it there all, which makes it at least watchable.

The Asylum became popular with Sharknado, and then giddy with Sharknado 2. Sharknado 3 was more level headed but it wasn't the same Asylum that made films such as War Of The Worlds 2 which were god-awful but had heart. Age Of Ice, to my mind, is a return to form. The nonsense plot, the assumptions the audience are forced to make because the writer didn't realise we can't read his mind, the physics and reality defying scenes, the empty but earnest acting, the mock terror - it's all here!
