Well observed slow-burn of Wright’s Aisha becoming ensnared in the Kafkaesque contradictions of the refugee processing system lacks a galvanising finale that might have added more resonance – it may well be the point of this Loach-like wail against injustice, but it robs the film of a follow-through of its dramatic impetus. Points for letting the anger and frustration play out organically rather than trying to spice things up with melodrama; nice support work from O’Connor as a fellow lost soul.
