It's interesting how the film depicts the rich and poor as a black & white moral dichotomy but isn't naïve enough to believe that a lower class uprising will garner the best results. The film's complexity warrants the idea that at all levels of social class there are divided interests, egos, and goals that do not necessarily create a kosher unity, culminating in the ultimate question as to what makes conflict worth it (if it is to begin with) and what people value in the land they walk on.

rewatching it still hurts! It's a sad, depressing, and infuriating kind of 'truth' that still stands today. The pain! For all the unjust!
