All the points I give this movie I give to Matthew Fox's banging bikini bod.

I think I liked this more than I should've because I just see Madea. Rob Cohen we meet again you glorious tone deaf bastard. Casting Tyler Perry in this role is like casting Dame Edna as a spy...oh my God. It's fucked up that this got a PG13...

This is not the worse movie about the Alex Cross character. Doesn't make it amazing, though Matthew Fox tries his best.

A sad movie for sure. I was expecting an even worse product with Tyler Perry as one of my favorite book heroes. Perry did a little better than I thought but he was still a really flat actor. He had a better look than Morgan Freeman in the other Alex Cross movies but still, looks don't count for everything. The rest of the ensemble did ok. The best acting prize goes to the villain. Patterson can write a good part for bad guys every time. This movie just sucked and OnStar in the car... wow.

Not terrible. Anyone who says otherwise was expecting way too much.

I don't understand why critics trashed this and it didn't fare well at the box office. They were just trying to restart the Alex Cross series, and this was a solid action/thriller. Tyler Perry was very good and I loved Matthew Fox as the psycho.

My wife thought this movie was okay, but then again, she can barely understand English. The action was okay. The acting was decent - there were some good actors. This would have been a decent action flick if it was not built up so much by the commercials/trailers.

The apex of incomprehensible shaky cam action

Yeah, pretty stupid piece of psycho-terrorist thriller mixed with a fake revenge plot -- this move is so 1990s --, but Alex Cross is bad basically because Cohen was not given enough room to do his thing -- you know, a full throttle, mindless and campy compilation of macho action sequences. Perry sucks, McGinley struggles, but still looks funny, and Fox attempts to redo De Niro's Max Cady for today's desperate Detroit.

I wish that instead of the second incarnation (regeneration?) of doctor Alex Cross, Tyler Perry was cast as a woman in a refrigerator.

I knew going in this wasn't going to be good with madea trying to be a action star. And the Razzie goes to everyone. One of the worst parts is how fox can beat a pro fighter but can't beat perry at the end. I just laughed at how dumb this movie was.

Another below average thriller that is far from engaging. The main problem is the miscasting of Perry. He actually handles the emotional scenes pretty well, but he is so boring and doesn't seem competent at all. Fox will always be one of my heroes, but I can't believe he turned his body into a sickly skeleton for this piece of trash. He is entertaining though and is the only reason for watching Alex Cross, despite overdoing his psychopath to the extreme.

This felt like a big budget movie, but fails to satisfy. Acting performances were unimpressive and unconvincing. Tyler Perry was monotonous. Edward Burns was boring. The writers were trying desperately to be clever, but made it feel fake and pretentious. The music was overbearing and annoying. It lacked energy, excitement and engagement.

There's a workmanlike plot lurking in here somewhere, but it's buried under mounds of disappointing acting (Tyler Perry is OK but Matthew Fox isn't), shabby characterisation and desperately shoddy dialogue. The pacing is frequently poor and everything from character motivations to laptop GUIs are so unrealistic as to detract from the experience. Lazy, uninspired and lacking any modicum of intelligence, Alex Cross is only worth watching is you're desperate to catch any and all action-thrillers.
