Ali Baba et les quarante voleurs

Although not really that great, for its time, it's a pretty decent early narrative film short, and kinda noteworthy for its use of color, set design, and maybe for featuring the first ever cinematic decapitation. Unfortunately, this early narrative relies on you already being familiar with the story of "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves." However don't worry, I manged fine by only knowing the gist behind "Open Seasame" and the story from seeing the Merrie Melodies short "Ali Baba Bunny"(1957).

Pretty good for the time but it was really basic. It be interesting to see what Georges Méliès' version of this would've looked like.
