Tremendous scene to scene movie that feels as real as its inspiration. Lacks focus or a real story...more of a quick window into the soul of humanity.

3Stacks did surprisingly well as Jimi and was the movie's saving grace. Could have been so much more if Jimi's estate authorized the use of his music instead of finding ways to incorporate cover songs and jams instead of his classic hits.

Such a bummer. It was so boring at times I managed to finish it just because I adore Jimi so much. Editing was weird sometimes, I thought the file was corrupted or something. The story itself was quite disappointing, I was expecting more about rock scene and Jimi as ant artist, not his relationships with women.

Good film but could have been a lot better, Andre did a good job playing the part of Jimi.

A film not about Jimi Hendrix the rock god but just Jimi the man, finding his sound and himself and the relationships that contributed to his rise, and the absence of his hits from the soundtrack only highlights that. It's an unconventional biopic that feels thankfully fresh when Hollywood biopics have become formulaicly predictable, even though its experimental stylizations can be hit or miss. You may wish that the film covered more but it's unnecessary, the rest is history. And Andre kills it.

The way a music biopic should be done. It doesn't focus on only the good of Hendrix but really captures his character and personality as a whole during his times in London. Andre 3000 rocked the role, though not a ton of his castmates were worth watching. Unusual compared to what you would expect but oddly refreshing in terms of a biopic. Worth a watch.

Artful and explorative and it definitely has some great scenes in there. But all together, a bit too conventional and weirdly loose. Mystery too me why they couldn't get the rights to his music.

This is an interesting look at some of the early days of Jimi Hendrix. Unfortunately they could not get the rights to his songs so there are a lot of cover songs. The cast does a good job in this film. Overall I would recommend this movie.

This is not about Jimi the man, its just an even lamer myth. Wildly and offensively inaccurate, Jimi, not to mention Kathy Etchingham as well as the women of color in his life, really deserve better. Really don't understand what John Ridley or Andre Benjamin were thinking. This is misogynistic hackery.
