Amazing. Autobiography as a personal requiem in advance. And I don't even like musicals.

Saw this movie as a young adult, didn't like it, watched it now and it all makes sense. This movie is better when you have your own life experiences to draw from.

Bob Fosse's autobiographic story of a womanizing, durg using, workaholic choreographer.

One of the most imaginative contemporary musicals. The musical numbers, as can be expected, are extraordinary. An ironic and fitting testament to a master choreographer and a talented director.

Bob Fosse adamantly denied this film was autobiographical at all until the day he died. Probably because then people would forgive him and he would have had to face the guilt and acknowledgement of it head on. At any rate, one of the greatest musicals of all time, stage or screen. Just please let those rumours of a Broadway adaptation never go forward.
