Allegro non Troppo is a darker kind of Fantasia. The animations are less fanciful and more adult-oriented. The music is more intense, but it's not any better than Fantasia's collection. It's basically a grown-up version of the Disney classic. Meh!

A parody of FANTASIA with a lot of guts and a lively style; but falls short on technique -- after all, Bozetto did not have the kind of money to throw at it that Disney had to create the original.

Very psychedelic in the cartoons, but the live action shots are seriously lacking and take away from the mood of the animation.

Loved the animation, couldn't wait for the segues to end.

It's an odd duck. The segment featuring Ravel's Bolero is a genuine masterpiece. However, the Vivaldi and especially the Debussy have an unpleasant psychedelic flavor that is just getting cornier and mustier every day (see also: Wizards, Strawberry Shortcake). The Sibelius is very sad and beautiful, but the abrupt end followed by slapstick comedy ruins its effect. The Stravinsky presents some interesting concepts but just doesn't feel like an ending or finale.

A really fun take-off on Fantasia. The animation is creative (and also quite raunchy at times) and the musical selections are more interesting than the Disney film. Definitely worth checking out if you're interested.

Fantasia with caffeine and less sugar. Not as well animated though.

The animated sections are a mixed bag, but I generally enjoyed the live action parts.

Save for the ape bit, the live action segments are pretty unfunny. Starts out a bit slow, but once the second half hits it's wonderful. Loved the ending.

Rather than a Fantasia parody it's more of a different take on the same idea. Some of the humour is good, but it gets to feeling like filler between the sparse animated sequences. Some of those are great, but others are a drag, making the whole film very inconsistent.

A grittier Fantasia with much more touching pieces and a variety of animation styles. Some segments are better than others but Valse Triste, Bolero, and Slavonic Dance are the gems.
