Just a bunch of pretty people in a pretty place with pretty much nothing happening. The best scenes are between Cooper and Krasinski, where they literally don't say anything to each other.

Boring, dull, trite, idiotic, middling. These are all words that you can use to describe this film. What's worse is that it doesn't even showcase Hawaii correctly. Apparently Hawaii has no asian people there and the best drama they can come up with involves 3 very boring starring roles for 3 actors who can do far better than the script they were given. This film not only wastes talent but location and manages to take a dump on local culture in hawaii at the same time. Avoid this pile of shit.

I might be uniquely predisposed for this blend of Cameron Crowe schmaltz and space industry shenanigans, but I found it really endearing. A weird, sweet romance with a healthy balance of laughs and an odd focus on a fictional tryst between military and private space exploration.

This was pretty horrible. (McAdams is pretty, everything else is horrible). The humor is so off that one can't help but wonder if it's really a matter of it being ultra-refined, if Cameron Crowe is actually ahead of his time in some way..... But it's probably exactly as bad as it seems. On a sidenote, I'm growing tired of Emma Stone.

I can't quite believe what I was watching. How little sense it made, how muddled the themes and characters were. It is supposed to be a love triangle movie? An ecological parable? A space-age techno-thriller? It feels like a number of screenplays fell on the floor, got mixed up, and Cameron Crowe just picked up 90 random pages and went to shoot them. The actors can't make head nor tail of what the scenes mean, so I'm damn sure I can't. Even the camerawork is demented! No more drugs for that man.

An incompetent mess of a rom-com that doesn't work on any level. The story is loaded with plot holes, illogical character motives and a third act that jumps haphazardly between farce and forcing a zeitgeist message about respecting nature. All of the lead actors have been typecast in roles that misuse their abilities. There are small moments that could make a good movie, but it almost feels as if scenes are cut short, making the film an incoherent slog.

I wish the film's last 20 minutes somehow redeemed the whole thing. But they don't, fully, and that means true aloha remains elusive here. (pluggedin.com)

What a waste of a cast on a story and dialogue as cheesy as the title. I just didn't think it would be that bad. It was like a TV 60s sit-com travelogue.

Really, how often do you see a movie marketed as a romantic comedy also be about putting weapons in the sky? Some see "quirky," some see "incoherent," and I'm in the former. I laughed, I got invested. The three leads were good together, Baldwin was a gem. Now, I can't speak for how accurately represented the culture is by any means, I think the script needed work (or perhaps just be left alone to breathe), and Aloha is by no means a GREAT movie, but I still enjoyed myself.

Trite, boring, and filled with so little entertainment value that, just like the characters in the film, you, too, might find yourself longingly staring at absolutely nothing. A terrible plot that wraps up so incredibly conveniently that you'll want to punch something, and almost nothing that is in any way redeeming. Where, oh where, did the good Cameron Crowe go?

What was Aloha (2015) all about again?! I know they explain some of this, but the connection between the story, it's characters and the audience is so vague that nothing matters. Some of the actors try, but when the direction is misguided there is little they can do to save this. Poor job.

Even looking past the irrationally racist casting of Stone as Allison Ng and the subsequent whitewashed look at Hawaii, the film itself makes no sense; character falls apart, plot moves without regard to logic or story.

A has-been military contractor (Bradley Cooper) seeks the blessing of a native Hawaiian leader (Bumpy Kanahele, as himself) for a project, while dealing with the attentions of his USAF liaison (Emma Stone) and ex (Rachel McAdams). Even more convoluted and tiresome than that summary suggests; a poorly directed and very poorly written rom-dramedy without much romance, humor, or drama. The cast manage not to embarrass themselves; Emma Stone, the most miscast of them, actually comes off best.

The overall tone ruins the movie for me. There's something deeply unsettling and uncomfortable with this movie. Like a drunk cousin at a family gathering being too familiar.

Many good stars, but abysmal script & execution. The plot is disjointed, convoluted and confused. So poorly told that much of the movie seemed like a collection of random scenes. I liked Emma Stone & Rachel McAdams despite their pathetic roles. Bradley Cooper was barely adequate. Alec Baldwin & Bill Murray were not great. The mute bro conversation was cute but imbecilic. Total directorial failure. Most plot details were incredibly stupid & unconvincing. A shameful waste of otherwise good talent.

FIRST TO RANK IT BITCHES!!! Just like Murray was putting the STONEs to Emma first. That's right! A "Married To The Mob" reference cuz it's got Alec "Sweaty Balls" Baldwin!!! Seriously though, I was great to see Jack Nicholson's last film on the big screen.

Remember kids, unconventional story structure/dialogue/delivery are bad things and should be feared. Don't get me wrong, this flick isn't going to win awards, but this is another of those movies that's getting inconceivably and unduly shit on. Could it be better? Totally, there are lots of things that this movie could do better, but people are discounting the things that this movie does RIGHT -- primarily, that it entertained and told a story in an off-beat, weird, but ultimately satisfying way.

Aloha is in competition with Serena for being the dullest film of the year and they both have one common factor - Bradley Cooper. However, I don't believe Cooper is the problem as he and the cinematography are the best parts of the film. Stone's character is offensive and her acting is too much. McAdams fails to shine also. ALOHA (meaning goodbye).

If you like pissing away your life on pointless, bland drivel then perhaps Aloha might be of some interest to you. Otherwise this is a film to be actively avoided. If you see it in the wild, destroy it.

You don't give a shit about ANYTHING that happens in this movie. Bradley Cooper is wandering Clooney territory by now - every character he portrays in a film feels basically the same, because his character is a different version of Bradley Cooper on film. At least, I could have felt better about my time by seeing more Bill Murray, yet it doesn't deliver from that aspect, either. Stay away.

Aloha and Goodbye. I didn't hate this movie, I thought it was pretty cute. It has an awesome cast and some of them were utilized really well and others (Krasinski) wasn't used much at all. I must say the scene of non-verbal communication between Cooper and Krasinski will be one of my favorite scenes from this year. Otherwise, this movie will probably be forgotten. It has a pretty watered-down love story and some weird space based stuff in it that will confuse you...

So lovely, weird and naive. It has editing problems in its first 30 minutes or so, because it gets tricky to underline anything about what's even going on. But when things get settled, Aloha develops bizarrely as an action spy romcom with no set-pieces, as Cooper's character, so hurt by his past, decides to betray Murray's business man who wants to transform space in a military territory. Of course, he does that for Emma. The silent dialogues with Krasinski pave the way for a beautiful finale.

While I love Bradley Cooper's performance, I question the purpose of this movie. Nothing ever happens with his character Brian and Brian's long-lost love. Then, when he starts falling for Emma Stone's character, Ng, it happens all too suddenly, without any real development. Plus, while I understand the desire to incorporate native Hawaiian myths, it was done in a way that just seemed to have come out of nowhere, as if the film writers put them in there perfunctorily. Better watch something else.

I thought Stone was really good in this movie, Cooper however I really disliked. And the weird interaction between Cooper and McAdams just didn't make any sense. I also feel like Aloha wants to be serious and funny at the same time. And that has only happened a very few times.... 32/100.

Perhaps not the perfect movie that deals with love and relationships but a solid effort none the less that deals with struggles with morality, forgiveness and coming to terms with the past. Cooper and Stone have great chemistry and the rest of the supporting cast falls in nice and neat if perhaps just a little cliched at times. It still drives home some very heavy scenes, with some very heavy themes and that makes it a film worth viewing.

This movie has a few really great spots, but waaay to many bad ones to compensate. A few good performances, but nothing that did any altering for this movie, however, an even crazier cast wouldn't have made this work either. The story is too comprehensive and very poorly executed. *Bad

Emma Stone was really good in this movie, and if she was featured more often, it would have been a better film. Unfortunately, Bradley Cooper was the main character, and he was not good. Bradley Cooper is better used as the nice guy. I want to go on vacation to Hawaii badly, but this movie made me second guess my desire because it made Hawaii look awful. The plot line was too unfocussed and the dialogue was not strong enough to save it.

Aloho is a watered down, 2015 rom-com version of Dances With Wolves in Hawaii. We got the soldier with a bad leg who is trying to redeem himself and falls for the one quarter local girl and blah blah, and the rest is politics, the US trying to come to terms with its past by hardly scratching the surface.

None of the characters speaks like a normal person, not even the kids. It's like Cameron Crowe shits out his own original brand of idioms that no one else can understand, and rather then flush them down the toilet he smears them all over his screenplays.
