A Belgian silent that could have been good. Belgian Spirit had the war story, espionage and family dilemmas, but for whatever reason this never caught the right flair. Becomes too long and disjointed. But there are particular scenes that show quality in Armand du Plessy's film making. Though he didn't have the use the same stock-footage he used in his previous film La libre Belgique (1921), but I guess Belgium didn't have all that much raw war footage available.
