It very very much wants to be taken seriously. Aaaaaaaaaaaand it's also shot in 3D.

Kind of dumb to have a fake shitty effect used as an opening joke in your movie containing actual shitty effects. I guess it was a spoof? Whatevs. Tongue-in-cheek only works if it is not cynically motivated. See also: Sharknado.

Why didn't Lori Loughlin's parents just bribe the house?

So odd that such a horrible original could spawn sequels that are almost worthwhile. There's really not much to complain about here, but then there's not much to say about anything in general. Could be the best of the 80s 3-D craze.

Didn't the house explode in the last one? Anyway, this is a gimmick movie in a franchise that shouldn't exist in the first place, and pretty much every Amityville entry afterwards is grafted onto the otherwise unconnected original IP to secure funding (as is the case with later Hellraisers). Usually deliberate so-bad-it's-good films are just bad, as is the case here, the closest thing you're going to get is the earnestly hysterical second film.

It's pretty bad, but honestly I've seen a lot worse. The positives here are the pacing, which once again is much better than the first film, & the decent performances by most of the cast. Meg Ryan of all people is actually pretty good here. The negatives, unfortunately, are everything else. The characters aren't good, the plot makes no sense when put into the continuity of the first movies, and the writing in general is really iffy. Not really worth a watch unless you're a hardcore horrorhead.

Is this a good movie, probably not, but I had fun watching it? The tone has a goofy feel to it like it is both playing the story straight while still mocking the material.

Extremely corny and over-the-top with terrible special effects. It's not the worst movie I've ever seen, but I certainly cannot recommend that anyone watch this.

Abominable. Hollywood at its worst.

This third entry in the series totally refuses to take itself seriously. Brimming with cartoony FX and gimmicky 3-D sequences, this has a pleasing funhouse feel not attempted by its more serious forerunners and is all the better for it. A young Ryan makes one of her earliest screen appearances as a teen who fantasizes about having sex with a ghost.

Amityville 3: O Demônio estreava há 40 anos nos EUA. Fleischer é um dos grandes cineastas americanos de sempre, mas migo, assim não dá pra te defender. Box OP Trilogia Amityville.

Not worth the time. It was obviously shot especially for 3D, and it looks ugly in 2D. Not that I see how 3D could improve these cheesy bad special effects. The story is the same old tired haunted house story that was made million times before and after. I just can't find anything positive to say. As tagline says, I was the victim in this movie.

There is nothing positive that I can say about this film. It is atrociously bad.

This has a pretty bad reputation, and while it cannot compete with the madness of the 2nd film, I thought that it was OK. 3D is quite entertaining, but mainly used for things like throwing a frisbee / swinging a microphone at the viewer instead of actually using it for scares. It's the shortest of the original films, and still starts to wear out due to boring characters and recycling of elements from the previous films. I'd imagine one's patience would run out sooner watching the 2D version.
