This quirky crime/family drama has the feel of a debut indie filmmaker about it - a director who is not afraid to add that surrealist touch, or surprise us with a camera angle, or keep flogging a tenuous premise he thinks would make a great story. The film was a little eccentric and slow-moving for my liking, there's a limbo feeling and most of the characters are in no hurry to go anywhere. I didn't think the repressed childhood trauma aspect worked too well, unfortunately. Bit of a lame duck.
