A Roma family living far away from the urban centres of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The father Nazif salvages metal from old cars and sells it to a scrap-dealer. The mother Senada keeps the house tidy, cooks, bakes and cares for their two small daughters. One day, she feels a sharp pain in her abdomen. A bleak film portraying the plight of a poor and disadvantaged family in rural Bosnia-Herzegovina. It's not made clear what will happen to Senada at the end of the film, but based on what has gone before, we might assume that it's not good and that life will get even harder for Nazif the iron picker and his two young daughters. A stinging criticism of the state's position on ethnic minorities by Tanovic. And a mercifully short film.

Başka Sinema - Rexx: Benzerlerini çok kez gördüğümüz bu sosyal gerçekçi film, izleyiciyi olan bilenin ortasına hapseden kamera kullanımı ve oyuncuların bizzat kendilerini oynamasıyla değer kazanıyor denebilir. Ama "Günümüzün Bisiklet Hırsızları" yakıştırması, bir hayli abartılı olmuş sanki.
