The twists and turns of the plot (adapted from Priestley's classic, socially conscious play) had me hooked, and the ensemble cast is excellent. So despite the fact that I think that the ambiguous (very) last part of the ending is unnecessary, I loved this!

A lovingly crafted, beautifully judged and compelling adaptation of the brilliant play. Sim is excellent and backed up by a generally very good support cast. A great crime mystery.

It was a good film, i like murder mystaries and it wasnt the ordinary 1. Would be good if they made a modern version.

Very good, and a wild George Cole appears.

A great example of how a convenient set-up strives with an intriguing narrative. The ending fits perfectly this nightmarish sense of forgotten troubles coming back to haunt the characters who thought they got away with the burden of admitting their existence.

I remember our class watching this at school after reading/performing the play and it was really interesting to see it done properly. Taking another look recently, with the plot still surprisingly fresh in mind, not quite as much. It is a classic though, Agatha Christie with a moral to the story, but perhaps better on first viewing. While a couple of the performances are a bit stiff, Sim’s as the inspector is timeless.

Sim is just excellent as The Inspector, slightly more mischievous than I've seen in other performances.
