A different sort of Victorian drama. Any concerns of a few heavy-handed metaphorical traits [and characters] are allayed by a remarkable lead in Rylance.

Marvelous period piece with memorable haunting characters. A scientist studying insects finds support from a prominent family. He loves and marries one of the daughters. For years odd things occur until one day the cause is revealed, changing his life forever. Somewhat predictable, but that did not detract from watching it unfold. It was marvelous to watch this man (Mark Rylance), with such a gentle manner and kind nature. Kristin Scott Thomas was awesome also. Looking for a sequel.
