As an AVGN fan, this was one of the unfunniest comedies I've seen in a long time. It's kind of embarrassing to see how long it took and how much money was involved for something that turned out so bad on a technical level. While I wasn't expecting a terrific film from an indie low-budget filmmaker like James Rolfe, I definitely didn't expect such an awful experience. The acting is terrible, the jokes are so low-hanging-fruit lazy, and the story manages to be both predictable & incoherent. Skip.

God, where to start? This is the most horse-shit taint-lickingly bad movie I've ever seen. The entire goat-assedness of it makes my head explode. I'd rather eat the juicy turds of a dying elephant than watch this distended bowel of a movie again. I mean, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

I really wanted to like this, but unfortunately it was a reminder of why I only watch AVGN casually. I don't like his videos where he makes plots and stuff, and when he chains together swear words it isn't funny like something like Trailer Park Boys. His reviews are great and clever, the rest isn't. It was too long and while there were good moments (like the credits and the ending in general), and it was a nice piece of indie film making with a lot of passion and love. Just wasn't for me.

I'd rather have a buffalo take a diarrhea dump in my ear. I have this idea about AVGN's fanbase, that they are a swarm of beta male try hards with no real cultural touchstones beyond video games who are too cowardly to swear around strangers. Mostly, I have that idea because the people who introduced me to that show are like that. Anyway, this movie is made for them. Just them. It's an ingroup exclusive movie with very limited appeal outside of that.

Considering the 'funny' skits on his show, this could've been a helluva lot worse. But it's still far from tolerable. Begins as a bit of passable b-movie fun, before budget constraints and odd script decisions become impossible to ignore. At almost two hours following the seemingly random storyline is a chore - without enough reward for all your efforts. Even the Eee Tee review climax is a letdown, presented live to his fans and trying to crowbar depth into something that has none.

Did not expect those youtube videos to turn into this, good on him but no need to be 2 fucking god damn ball sniffing dried diarrhea cockamamie hours though

As an amateur filmmaker I really appreciate the effort put into this. However, I am expecting an improvement in future projects.

I wish it had ended up being a better film. It has the right elements for a good movie, but frankly, they don't really have the talent to pull it off. It wasn't as funny as I was hoping for either, which was a real shame. And at almost 2 hours, it's too long. They really could have used a good script doctor. Still, it had some fun moments, and the music was pretty good. The story and ideas were there for a good movie, but it doesn't quite deliver. I don't regret supporting Rolfe though.

Gets way too much hate for something that, as underwhelming as it might seem, fits the Nerd's spirit so well. It's hardly the best argument one can bring up, but it's definitely there: it's one of those things you have to watch with the right mindset and/or context.

The movie is decent, and the story is fun, but something about it just doesn't feel like it lived up to its potential. A decent movie for AVGN fans, but that's about it.

A delight for fans of James Rolfe, the Angry Video Game Nerd. He puts his entire passion into this work, and it shows. It's a funny, well written movie that perfectly brings the character to film, while also paying tribute to the films that James Rolfe loves.

Yes, it runs a bit long, and there are weird periods which feel like joke vacuums, but the parts where it works it really really works. There's some great moments in there, a nice mix of comedy styles, as well as a mix of CGI and practical effects which is really nice to see. The story's not bad either, they build up a fun little fairytale around the E.T. legend. Rolfe and his team should be extremely proud of this, for sure.

Takes the worst bits of the show and turns them into a unnecessarily drawn out 2 hour movie, with the best part relegated to the credit roll.

Extremely fun movie. It ranges from so bad it's good to parts where you're surprised just how engaged you are by the story, It's an admirable piece of independent film making and is an inspiration to anyone who wants to pick up a camera and start making Youtube videos. It's full of great gags for AVGN fans, especially those who are hardcore fans who pay attention to the details of the episodes. It obvious that, while the movie was hard to make, it was a labor of love and fun. Conglaturation Nerd

Just a terrible, unfunny and boring movie. Has some jokes, but it's just a chore to drag yourself to the end

This film doesn't compare to, or really feels like the series at all. It did feel slightly like something that would play in theaters, except for a couple of really bad green screen shots throughout the movie.
