Nature is cool, isn't it? If you agree that nature is cool, here's about a half hour of cool nature footage. It's not overly unified (there's some stuff about endangered habitats but not much) but it's good watching.

While no doubt remarkable and beautiful, such imagery has also become familiar, thanks especially to the even better nature cinematography that proliferates through numerous Attenborough documentaries (and which also make at least a fair attempt to elucidate the images with explanation). The Glass score, while certainly good, fails to reach the heights of some of his other work. Seems to indirectly thematize the threat of extinction caused by loss of habitat, and the resultant loss of diversity.

Beautiful, but anyhow pointless mesh of beatiful imagery of flocks of animals. Reggio's thematic worked for Quatsi Trilogy. But here his single quotation from Platon doesn't solve the problem. The imagery runs around in abruptly, with no logical collection or build up, except squishing all animals between the lion shot. I guess he's aware of the problem since it only lasts 23 minutes long.
