Anjo-ke no Butokai

Out with the old rich, in with the new era - Japanese-style. Had its share of good moments and effective melodrama as this family have their last hurrah in their mansion while feeling sorry for themselves. There certainly is a lot of story here for one night, not as subtle as Japanese films can be, and that's a good thing in my book.

Semana em honra do centenário de Setsuko Hara filme #7. O peculiar desse filme é que ele soa totalmente europeu, algo como Visconti se tornaria a partir dos anos 50, é quase um Visconti japonês antes mesmo dele encontrar esse estilo. Também a Setsuko Hara nunca esteve tão resplandecente como nos seus filmes dos anos 40 e Masayuki Mori interpretava canalhas como ninguém. DVDRip no MakingOff.
