For a movie called anti matter, there really wasn't much substance...bah dum tss! But seriously folks, the moment our protagonist tried to convince a girl in a library that memories have weight I knew it was time to chug some Slim Fast. A smarter sci-fi movie than say, any sci-fi movie wherein Tara Reid wears glasses and a lab coat, but so poorly played out that you'll wish you had a wormhole of your own to teleport your mass-less recollections of it into one of Schroedinger's catless boxes.

I'm disappointed. While at times it's pretty clever, it's a lot crammed into one movie and it doesn't satisfy on any of the accounts. The way it wraps up is the worst offender; it explains the twist and then keeps going and going and going. It tries for some emotional depth and doesn't get it. I almost gave it a passing grade because it's harmless sci-fi, but then as I wrote this I realized that I don't think I actually enjoyed it.

This one started badly and looked like shit in the first 25 mins, but then suddenly picks up a tempo and atmosphere that keeps you on your seat and drives you till the end. While the ride was enjoyable, it does leave some question marks in the end but I'm not sure if it deserves a second watch or not. But if you are a sci-fi fan, you should give it a go.

Elements of other indie sci-fi's that if named would give it away with some extra psychological stuff. It's OK.

Top badass moment? All things considered, Ana takes the news at the end quite well. This, the latest in the Planet of the Apes saga, feels quite different to its predecessors. Also, PhiIippa Carson is my new favourite geek. She can streamline my code any day. I actually did physics at university, (until I got thrown out for being too thick). Which is stupid, as I could programme the mainframe there (in BASIC) to endlessly print my name. 1 cat (huge and fluffy), no chainsaws or decapitations.

AM has maybe the most solid first act of any sci-fi indie I've seen in the last half a decade. The science is solid (to layman who isn't well-versed in physics). When the science sounds far too stretched-out EVEN to a layman, the movie pulls me straight out of the story. No worry here. Movie builds the suspense and intrigue believably. Then comes act two... Sigh. They amp the angst to a level YA vampire fan fiction writers dream about. By third act it all crumbles under the weight of drama.
