Arctic Blast

Bad performances vie with atrocious writing in this modern throwback to such disaster classics as THE SWARM. Irresistible for Hobart residents as the rarely used city is used as a prominent back drop for the action, but hilariously bad at times, in terms of writing, performances and astonishingly shoddy special effects.

A US research vessel is located in the Antarctic Ocean 150 kilometers off the coast of Australia for a study of the ozone layer. Suddenly, the ship is hit by a wave of icy air that freezes everything and everyone in no time. Jack Tate, a brilliant physicist, loses contact with the ship from land. When Jack finds out about the bizarre death of his colleagues, he investigates. By putting the different puzzle pieces together, he can only conclude one thing: A new ice age will follow! Bad. Like real bad. But kinda "funny bad". The science is bad. BAD. The everything else is bad. Like for real bad. But it's all just so bad that I couldn't stop watching it. I might even watch it again!
