Teenaged Wally is attracted to two girls. One is Ginny, the local "bad girl" with a reputation. The other is Caroline, a sweet young thing who is everything Ginny isn't. Another comically blatant example of post-war American structural functionalism in its death-throes. It is still quite eye-opening how easily this is identified as hateful in retrospect. Even the title reads like some kind of sinister ultimatum.

Weird, stilted dialogue and awkward delivery, with no trace of self-irony. It's hard to describe it as even "human". "Don't let me interrupt your reading, Mr. Ames!" "Oh, I'm just reading up on world events before dinner!" There is some advice that make sense (acting overly familiar is a bad idea, and don't call up a girl for a date that very night unless you both want to screw), while other pieces of advice are either questionable or too 40s-centric. A poor film, but there are worse PSAs.
