Looks like a sort-of attempt to do some Raiders of the Lost Ark shenanigans within the same mad framework as the earlier "Wheels on Meals" Unfortunately the flaws in that film (script, "romance", story) are slightly more prominent here, so the action scenes and Chan's charisma have to do some heavier lifting. That said, it's still a fun and energetic outing, and the inclusion of out-takes at the end adds something. I'll need to revisit Project A and the Police Story flicks.

A decent opening and a great finale bookend a long stretch of obnoxious comedy and stupid romantic subplots. This is OK as an Indiana Jones wannabe, but it certainly isn't among Jackie Chan's best films. Worth a look for the battle against 4 black leather-clad Amazons with huge hair and boobs, and the footage of Jackie almost dying in the credits/outtakes.

Pretty typical Jackie Chan film. Great stunts, passable acting, terrible script. I can live with that and enjoy the high points, but it's those negatives do drag down the experience.

A few great set pieces scattered throughout are let down by how bad the rest of the movie is. The story is piss-poor and the humour is more miss than hit.

Maybe it doesn't deliver in stunt quantity as much as some of Jackie's other films, but it certainly delivers in quality whenever there's some action. For me mix of his stunts and 80s adventure cheese just works perfectly and I would never call it a "lesser" Jackie's film - don't skip it.

Some great stunts and fighting make up for a pretty poor film.

Asian Hawk (Jackie Chan) is an adventurer, treasure hunter and a formidable fighter. Hawk clashes with an order of Satanist monks who have kidnapped his former girlfriend Laura. The monks try to force Laura's new friend Alan to hand over one of the five volumes of The Armor of God, a magical armor whose wearer is invincible. Alan and Hawk team up to find the missing parts of the armor, then devise a plan to free Laura from the clutches of the Satanists.

Some of his craziest stunts, including the one that almost killed him.

(Rewatch: Chan can't write a good dialogue. Very dated romances. Fun backstory with the band.) Good stunts (and very dangerous IRL for Jackie Chan). Very distinctive car (that they destroyed). Interesting to see Lola Forner star in 2 Jackie Chan films made in Europe. Drags in the middle with Laura/May drama. Fav scene: car chase was amazing.
