lacks depth and perspective reaches for lofty heights without doing the groundwork

There's some interesting trivia moments about some commercials (by the way, ironic Apple telling us that 1984 wouldn't be 1984 thanks to them, still laughing). But, most of the documentary doesn't really try to reach anything, has no point, it's just a kiss creatives' asses, they're great and we love them, and they make this world a better and more artistic one. Yeah... well, I think there's more study needed on that subject, and maybe some controversy about it would have made this interesting.
