Using "interviews" and eyewitness accounts from his sister and mother, a childhood friend, an employer, the poet Paul Verlaine, and others who knew him, the film constructs a portrait of Rimbaud's turbulent career, drug addictions, and early death, while the camera wanders the settings that were his favorite haunts.
