Worst movie of the year (although "Mother" is in contention). This is an ambush movie which starts out with respectable quality and story, but then goes way over-the-top as a political hit piece, where all straight white males are the bad guys (who ironically look exactly like masked Antifa thugs but with American flags), and the "good" guys are everybody else, including victims, but mostly teenage girls--who it appears is the target audience. It isn't meant to be sensible, just inflammatory.

Stylishly filmed sort of fusion between Heathers and The Purge, though it becomes increasingly annoying as it goes on with its profoundly hamfisted sociopolitical messaging.

Facerape and revenge? Subtle it ain't (but then neither is anything right now) and both the characters and plot fall a bit flat at times, but it's got style and anger to carry it through those bits. 20 years ago you'd barely be able to explain the plot beyond "updated witch trials", but right now it feels like it deserves to be here.

If you throw subtlety out the door, if Miley Cirus was a production design, and if you like your soundtrack drenched in loud blood, then I have a movie for you. Look, there are some major problems with the film, but I suspect it is a certain group of cis-white-males that will find them the fastest. I can appreciate a frenetic design and a third act that pays homage to Argento and De Palma enough to like the film.

Not enough space on Criticker to discuss the message, but even though I can appreciate militant methods (like the Purge), this is... questionable, to say the least. Anyway, as a movie it's not what it could be. The premise is silly but it could have worked, we could have had fun with this and had badass chicks but the final act falls seriously flat. The rest of it is okay, very stylish and energetic, probably helped me forgive its shortcomings to some degree, and yet I can't quite recommend it.

You'll either love it, or loathe it, but you can't deny it's incredible style and unapologetic execution.

Destined to be a controversial, polarizing movie, and that's exactly what it's trying to be. Perplexing, oddly fascinating, unashamedly explicit, and very off the wall. It's the sort of movie that leaves you wondering what exactly it is you just watched. Hari Nef, Joel McHale, and Odessa Young turn in strong performances. The characters, however, are largely thin, and the story is clumsy.

At times there was some good camera work but overall I was just annoyed by the whole and especially the pretentiousness of the ending. Every single person in this film was completely unlikable and I didn't give a shit about any of them.

Purge-core. Not as good as the best of that series but just as like stupid in it’s politics. It’s certainly goes for it in every way possible from a cinematic level. An obnoxious failure you can’t take your eyes off of

The later plot developments are pretty difficult to believe, especially with the narration constantly going "it seems ridiculous that this would happen, but it did and it's all true." Highlighting how implausible the plot is doesn't make it any better, and this obviously isn't a true story so its insistence that it is is a bit annoying. The film is extremely style-over-substance at most points, but that style occasionally works. Some of the violence was fun, some of it was kind of stupid.

I'm stunned, not sure if i loved it or hated it but what a messy, filled with ideas and energetic movie.

Not sure what to even say here. It's a hell of a trailer stretched out to a 90 minute feature. Almost a polemic instead of a movie, but what a rush.

Joe Chrest always plays the worst dad. And one of the dumbest movies I ever seen.

A very unsubtle take on modern teenage life, morals and politics. The two halves of the film, both entertaining and very over the top in their own way, are connected by a time jump that is a veritable leap across logic, plot holes and indeed genres.

Euphoria'nın yaratıcısı Sam Levinson'ın ilk filmi olan Assassination Nation'ı sonunda izledim. Sosyal medya çağını ve Z kuşağını ele alıp, özel hayat ihlalini işleyerek, etik ve etniği sorgulamış, bunu bir kaos ortamında, ilginç biçimde göstermeyi başarmış. Nefret etmesi de, sevmesi de kolay, ben seven taraftayım.
